I was wondering what happened to the planet that once existed in-between Jupiter and Mars. There was a huge collision and the asteroids in the asteroid belt were left behind. I was wondering what happened to the bulk of the planet. I thought to myself that it crashed into one of the gas giants, perhaps Uranus is turned on its side because a terestial planet crashed into it. Perhaps a collision dislodged the planet and the only evidence it existed is a belt of asteroids left over from the collision. The astroids in the asteroid belt and the dwarf planet Ceres have a low mass compared to the planet that created them. You need a large planet to cause large amounts of Iron to build up like that. I wonder how many terrestrial planets crashed into gas giant planets in the past. Perhaps I will never know, it will forever be a mystery.
