Port Xapien

Inside my head there is a place where creations manifest.

One of the biggest creations is a place called Port Xapien. It is a combined air port and sea port. The reason it is called Xapien is because it is shaped like a human laying down with an x shaped posture. The technical word for humans is Homo Sapien. The S is replaced with an x but it sounds the same. Sapient means wise in ancient Latin or Greek. It is a wise place because it is inspired by hindsight from other airport flaws.

The arms and legs of the airport are 4 runways that point out into an X shape. The (right leg) runway pointing South West is for planes landing that are coming from the South or West direction. The (Left leg) runway pointing South East is for planes taking of that are heading South or East. The (Left arm) runway that is pointing North east is for planes landing that are coming from a North or East direction. The (Right arm) runway that is pointing North West is for planes taking off and heading north or West. So two runways are for landing and two are for taking off.

The (Torso) gate area of the airport is at the end of the four runways and has departure gates that are below the ground, this means that the plane doesn't need to be towed backwards when it is time to taxi because they can continue forward. There is no building in the way of the plane. If you are in one of the departure gates, you would find yourself in a small hall with a ramp that goes up to ground level, the plane would park above your head.

The (Head) Arrivals and departure hall is a giant dome with an entertainment complex  below ground for visitors that are not flying. The entertainment complex consists of an aquarium, arcade and small VR theme park. The departures and arrivals is the same hall but different entrances. There is no terminal, just a long row of gates. The gates are lettered horizontally and numbered vertically.

The(neck) building attached to the dome and gates is a security screening area. And the space next to the runways and gate zone is solar panels with a car park below.

This blog entry doesn't really convey the complexity and detail of the airport but I am glad I can create these places because they give me comfort when I feel tense or worried. If there is one thing to be grateful for it is a good soothing imagination.
