Just There

The other day I was sitting outside looking at the trees swaying in the breeze thinking of nothing for a little while. I see the trees were driven by purpose, it was reaching out, reaching out for the light and reaching out below for water, the solvent of life. I live for those little moments when I forget about who I am and where I stand in the world and just observe the world. Looking up at the clouds and the grass on the ground and breathing in the fresh air in the morning.

My steadfast tea drinking parents that I love very much always showed me the beauty of reading. Recently a few years ago they bought me a kindle paper white. It imitates the inky paper-like nature of real books. With amazon prime, you're permitted to read through a selection of e-books on your kindle account. I thought I should mention that on here because that feature wasn't available when I first set up my kindle  account. At this time of this post, you could read a lot of popular books for free. It's still nice to keep real books. Some of the best books I have come across have been from charity shops; I'm guessing that when people are done reading them, they send them to the charity shop to be read by a new person. They're making space on their book shelves.

Take time to be still and allow the good positive thoughts to seep through your mind. Perhaps on your day off, early in the morning.

Stride-opeds

When I'm walking through a hallway in my work place, I think to myself if there is a way to put  powered wheels under my feet so I can get about without moving my legs. Then I think to myself that my legs are already decent vehicles; They have adaptive suspension, they hardly ever go wrong and if they do, they heal themselves. They're powered by peanut butter sandwiches  and are extremely efficient, I can walk huge distances with just a simple meal. I imagine my legs are entirely powered by muscles below my hips. So I'm perched on my hips and everything below can take care of itself. For some reason, thinking of my legs and hips as a separate vehicle I sit on makes walking easier, like I can just relax all the muscles in my torso and arms and just let my legs do the work. I could call my legs stride-opeds 😆
If I go onto a lift , I have repetitive thoughts. I think to myself that the lights in the lift use more power than the lift itself. This is because the motor doesn't lift the box directly, it uses pulleys and a counter weight. I imagined being able to stop the lift motor with my hands because it spins very fast but with low torque pressure. The pulley system converts the turn speed into a slow rotation with high pressure just like the first gear in a car. When your car is in first gear the turning speed is converted to torque pressure so the wheels turn slowly but with more force than  the engine itself. I don't know if I can stop a lift motor with my hands though, I only know they turn with less force than the last pulley in the transmission.
Then as the doors close I wonder if the world behind the doors exists. If we're living in a simulation then things that I can't see would disappear. If there is a glitch in the simulation, the doors could open and there is nothing there, just darkness. Then I think to myself that the simulation thought is silly and I just think about what is relevant to that time.

Alien Ethics thought

Suppose an alien civilization visited earth in a star ship and gave mankind a gift. The gift was instructions for how to make a self replicating nano machine that kills all viruses. They read through the instruction manual step by step and assemble a tiny machine and release it into the world.

A few months later, a vast cloud of Ammonia and Methane seeps out of the ocean into the air, fish start dying and then land animals die as well as humans. They then realise that some of the viruses in the world were stopping Bacteria from becoming too numerous. Bacteria that makes Ammonia and Methane gas was being killed by viruses but now they weren't because the anti virus machines wiped them out. But it is too late, mankind is doomed.
What would be the alien's crime? They didn't make the anti virus machines themselves, they gave the instructions to people but they didn't tell them to make the machines. They may have known that some viruses are keeping us alive by killing harmful Bacteria. What if they said that it would be bad to build it jokingly so they still warned us but we thought they were joking. How would you even categorize their crime?
