Mid Summer Stuff

It was my birthday and I had one of my Bi-Annual glasses of whiskey, the bottle will sit there until Christmas. Luckily I got the day off from work. The England Vs Argentina was an tense game and unfortunately England lost this time so we won't get the world cup this year. 

I learn something new every day, In the Bible in proverbs chapter 6 Vs 6 it says to observe ants if you're lazy. Ants are always moving, they are self motivated and they don't need to be told what to do they just do it. They gather supplies for the colony and they keep moving, they don't run they just keep a steady pace.  If you feel lazy, look at ants for inspiration. It says to do that. 

Just after that in Vs 16 it lists 6 things God Hates. 

1 The Proud look (looking at people while thinking you're better than them). 

2 Lying Tongue, habitually saying things that aren't true. 

3 Hands that shed innocent blood : Killing innocent people. 

4 A heart that Devises Wicked plans, thinking about doing horrible things to people. Malice, fraud and enslavement and things like that. 

5 Feet that are swift to do evil. People with a short fuse that suddenly become harmful or steal things without hesitation when an opportunity appears. 

6 A false witness that speaks lies. Someone that spreads rumours about other people and damages their reputation. People that accuse others of things they know they didn't do. 

If people were wondering, it is written what God hates. Well hopefully I will stay busy and avoid offending God this year, that should be the thing I'm most proud of. I hope that when I look at people, I will remind myself I'm not better than them, that is the first thing on the list. 

Locusts of the Abyss

In the Christian book of Revelation it states that an Angel will open the gate to the bottomless pit and release a vast swam of locusts to punish mankind. 

These Locusts are not normal Locusts, it states that they have the face of a man, the hair of a woman, the body of a horse, the sting of a scorpion and they have metal armour. It states that they cause immense pain to all people on Earth the are not shielded by God. 

What are these Locusts? I imagined that they are machines because they are wearing metal plates. Or maybe they are plagues or natural disasters. 

I often wonder what it is trying to tell me.. are they actually locusts, are they pain machines, viruses? I have no idea. 

Bitterness and hate

Very often in life, anger and bitterness can accumulate in a person's mind, because they remember all the bad deeds that were done to them. Sometimes they feel they are not respected. Other times they feel rejected socially. Well, an answer to this problem can be found in the Christian Bible. If I can recall correctly, the story of Joseph can be found near the end of Genesis Just before Exodus.

In the story Joseph, a Man with 11 brothers became the favourite of the family and was given a coat that contained lots of different coloured fabrics. His siblings became jealous of him and tried to kill him but decided to sell him off as a slave instead. He was betrayed by his brothers.

Joseph was able to overcome his bitterness by praying and doing everything very well. He did everything very well, even though the work he was doing was exploitation.

He was able to forgive his brothers and all the people that betrayed him. I think that bitterness and hate is poisonous to the mind and cuts people off from God. Forgiveness is hard for a human but when they pray to focus on what they are doing , the hate and bitterness goes away.
