Environment perspective

There are four Alan's so far New Alan, 90's Alan, Millennium Alan and Servant Alan.I am presently Servant Alan because I realized my reason to live in this world is to be a Servant, to assist the world in different ways. From spring 2019 till now I am Servant Alan. A man that has no desire for prestige but only asked what can I do for my family and the world? Or what can I learn today? Servant Alan listens more than he speaks.

Millenium Alan thought that Global warming is not a big Hazard because it has taken a century for the atmosphere to increase by 1°C. He believed that fossil fuels would run out or become too expensive before climate change became a big Hazard.

Servant Alan is different, he asked what does that mean. Chain reactions can happen, frozen methane at the bottom of the ocean could evaporate and bubble to the surface, ice floating in the sea could melt and reflect less heat back into space causing a chain reaction. I now realize that a Global Famine is definitely going to happen and would likely wipe out at least one third of all people on Earth. The ocean water will become acidic and bitter. We have all seen what a 1°C increase in heat can do, we watched record temperatures, wildernesses burning up and draught. We saw lots of super hurricanes like 'Catrina'. Much of our Earth was either flooded or dry. Perhaps by 2050 it will be 2°c.

Now I ask what can I do? I don't know.

Mid August thoughts

Common thoughts that I am having in the middle August in 2021 is realising that there is a lot of Ragime changes this year, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Hungary, even the USA.

I am also regularly looking for the E.V. super deal, I want an electric vehicle that costs less than £200 per month to run including insurance, recharging and finance. I sense it will only come along when someone invents the low cost high capacity battery, the power cell that doesn't use rare earth metals like Lithium. I wait patiently for a genius to invent it and change the world for the better.

It was in the middle of August that I used a smart bulb for the first time. I can ask my smart speaker to turn the light off or on for me and even change the colour. I can also set routines so the light changes colour and turns off and on at different times of the day according to a schedule set by me. I can even set time triggered routines so my smart speaker will say things without being prompted. If I learn a lot from my smart speaker, then it is worth getting.

Capital paradox

I describe the society I live in as a new age capitalist one. It works much like a food chain would in the natural world.

The first link in the chain is Energy and the next link is the maker and then the trader and then the Bank. This system works very well and creates prosperity. The problem is that our version of new age capitalism is corrupt.

The energy at the start of our food chain is fossil fuels, concentrated hydrocarbons that were left over from organisms that died millions of years ago. We turned our backs on all the free energy that was given to us from our star. We have turned ourself into a force of nature, displacing materials and changing the surface of the planet. If we don't change, our way of life will end as soon as the hydrocarbons are used up.

Corrupt leaders in the past submitted to lobbyists from oil companies. We need new leaders that can embrace a better way to be. It is the ordinary people like me that will gently steer them in the right direction.
