The Joy is Free

When I was a young I watched Andrew Davis conducting the proms and wondered why he seemed so filled with joy. He had a nice smile on his face. Now I understand, he was doing something he loved.
Just like him I know what I want. I want space and time to do the things I love to do. I see all these spoilt brats on social media complaining about everything saying how they're never happy regardless of how much money they have. I am filled with joy when I get 20 minutes to draw a pen sketch and I mange to write an article on this blog post. It's rushed but I used an abstract style to get the details in the image quickly.

If I was loaded because of the lottery or some idea I capitalised on, I would be able have a extra room in my home to keep a workshop and I could build test rigs. I was thinking about a hovercraft train, a train the floats on a pocket of fast moving air; the only contact it would have is the overhead power lines so they wouldn't need to replace worn out rails. I would build a model using 3d printers to see if it would work.
I could live in a world where small talk is dead, where people judge me all the time and where I have no respect and I wouldn't care because my joy comes from what I do. Thank God for simple joys of building things and enjoying it.

Makes me Tick

I learn something new every day. Yesterday a radio controlled wall clock I ordered online arrived. As soon as I turned it on it set itself to the correct time and date using the British MSF signal. I didn't know the radio controlled time signal contains the date as well. I thought I would need to set the date on the clock myself. That thing is a thing of beauty; it has an LCD analogue clock face. There are 120 little clock hands burnt into the LCD screen. It simulates every tick of the hands by turning on the hand images one by one. The minute hand is partitioned so the same hand can display the hour hand and there is also a disconnected partition for the second hand that can be turned off in the settings.
It has a little calendar showing the date and the day along with day of the week and the temperature  in the room. I keep looking at it. That is one of the things that brings me lasting joy, seeing familiar objects every day, always the same, set with all the charm they come with. I also got a solar power tiki face lamp but I put in on the window pane instead of the back yard, as night falls it glows away.

The other thing that brings me joy is eating oven steamed green veg. After 3 days passes by, a light in my mind comes on and it spells joy. It must be all the potassium, calcium and various other nutrients. Chopped vegetables baked in a pyrex pot, steamed by the water content of the vegetables themselves.

Reading, praying , green veg and familiar objects brings lasting joy that surfaces days later.

Where is the Joy

Sometimes I sit down outside for 15 minutes on a sunny morning with a cup of tea in my hand. I look at the trees swaying in the breeze, a work of beauty. A self balancing being reaching out for the light and water. They alter their body to be balanced and to strengthen themselves against the wind. If happiness were only the absence of sadness then every one of them would be filled with joy.
I think sometimes to be happy we don't need to find joy, we need to lose sadness, we have everything else we need for joy to flow through us. If a tree ever hosted consciousness and thoughts, it would be the most lonely being around. It would be trapped in itself for centuries without any way to share its world.

The beauty hidden in plain sight can only be shared through prayer because there are no words for it all. The blue sky and the fresh air in the morning. The fields of countless blades of grass, the sudden joy when your sad thoughts are removed and you're left with the flow of peace and rest. The feeling of the air flowing through your lungs.

All in the Hands

Many people I know feel a deep sense of dread or they feel frustrated . Here in Britain the center-right voters split into two groups, some voted for the conservative party and others for the reform party. The centre-left had one clear party to vote for, they chose Labour. About half the voting public feel upset about the outcome. The summer here in Britain is quite dark, overcast with clouds and rain. I thought I should share an idea on here to help people keep their chin up a bit.

Joy as I know it is all in the Hands. If you keep your hands busy, you will get more joy. Making things or drawing things is the way to be happy.

I draw pictures with pens and pencils every day. My hobby is a gift from God because I have two working hands to keep busy. If you're playing a guitar or building a test rig for experiments, the joy is the same.

Sometimes I watch videos on YouTube of people building things. I watch other guys build all sorts of things, roller coasters in their back garden, home aquariums and ponds, test rigs for experiments and things like that.

Use those God given gifts, make things with your hands or use your working eyes to read books. All those things can bring joy.

Make me rich

There are rich people in this world that are grumpy. If their money makes them sad then they should give it to me because I won't be sad with more money.

I would stop worrying about bills, I would nurture my hobbies and would have a large house built and would adopt many children and give them a good life and education and make sure they have a good start in life.

The more money I have the happier I become because I am easy to please and I value the simple things in this world. I am even happy to have a comfy chair to sit on to read interesting books. Even things like that are wonderful to me.

It would not get to my head because I am grateful for everything I receive that is good.

First winter as a married man

Last month I got married to my darling Cinthya. The winter has arrived in full force, the last 3 days have been foggy and quite cold. I have a pain in the head just above my left eyebrow for some days now and I'm not sure why, I'll blame the weather.

I am left handed and have never worn a ring before so it took some adjusting but I am wearing my ring every day now. My thinking is different now because it is not about me, it is about us as a pair.

There are some things that will never change, this blog is my blog and it is my history. All my media creations are still mine but everything else is about us and not me and her. Our time, our recreation, our life plan and our future.

This whole year has been very strange, many celebrities have died and the Eurosceptic community had their say and won the vote to leave the EU, the year is nearly over now. What will 2017 be like? I hope it will be the best year yet.
