ISRO Chandrayaan 3 mission

Recently, the Indian space agency ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) sent a probe to the moon's south pole at a cost of only £90 million. Less than the budget of some recent Hollywood movies. They could make that money back in a few weeks just from selling offical ISRO merch, t shirts and models. They're a very logical bunch at ISRO.

I think they created a highly elliptical orbit to get the lander close to the moon's surface and rockets to land when it was at the closest approach. That is very clever.

The ISRO website is more colourful than the other sites I read. I found the chandrayaan 3 Blog it is isro.gov.in/chandrayaan3.html. I'm very curious to see what they have discovered. All I know right now is that the rover has left the lander and is moving on the moon's south pole.

The Main website is ISRO.gov.in, Indian Space Research Organisation.

Chandrayaan 3 gets to work

I looked at the moon in the sky, then I looked at the bottom of the moon and wondered what the new robot explorer had discovered so far.  I think India are the 4th nation to send a probe to the moon, this time they're exploring the south pole. No nation has explored the south pole of the moon before so they may find something very interesting.
The rocket vehicle that took the probe to the moon works a lot like the NASA  SLS rocket for the Artemis missions. It has two booster rockets that detach when they're empty and a central main rocket in the middle. The lower parts for the spaceship also come off to remove dead weight when they're depleted.

I wonder what they will discover out there.

Peaceful Day

Jacob, my son.
We went to Southend on sea a few days ago for a short break. You always learn something new when you go on a short break. It is nice to go to the coast and relax. Southend is now a city, you went there when it was still a town and it was the first coastal place you went to in your life.

I learned that it is better to take the c2c train from Barking train station than west ham because the east bound trains share a platform and the station has ticket machines. The west bound c2c trains also share a platform at barking so when you get off a c2c train you can get on an 'underground' train and they put the contact card readers on the platform so you can tap in without leaving the platform.

I also learned that in the Jurassic park movie they knew the human sized raptor dinosaurs were not called  velociraptor they were actually called Dinonychus "de non e kus" , the director liked the name so he switched them around, velociraptors were very small, about the size of turkey. I learned that from an aquarium of all places, they had a small dinosaur section in there. Those creatures chasing the kids in the kitchen are actually Dinonychus, not velociraptors.

I smell something

There are many fires breaking out around the world but I see through the flames. They're not wild fires, they're ruthless property developers trying to drive poor people off the land and increase their property portfolio. When the wilderness is destroyed, they will bid for the land to develop properties and farms.

I believe global warming is real but there isn't that much lightning in the world to start all those fires and most lightning strikes through the rain. I know that people are going into the forests during a dry spell and dropping burning plastic or shooting lasers from drones to get the bush land burning.

They need to put live cameras in the forest when there is a dry spell and catch arsenists red handed and take council leaders to court if they evict people that still have a home to catch them taking a bribe.

No one listens to me now but people in the future will read this and know that I know bull shit when I see it. I can smell bull shit a mile away.

They should make a law that you can't bit for land that is burnt. They will say the forest is gone, let me buy the land. Then they can say no, let the woods grow back again.

Bike Fix

The town I live in is not bike friendly. I avoid cycling in my home town because there are hardly any bike roads and many motorists don't respect the rules, they drive close to 50 mph or sometimes 60; there are flowers on some of the roads where cyclists have been knocked of their bikes and killed.  I figured out a way to make High Wycombe bike friendly without being a nuisance to motorists.

I would convert kingsmead road into a one way single lane road, the other lane that is lost would become a two lane bike road for bikes going east or west. It would then link up with bassets lane over the foot bridge and then join the existing bike lane at the back of rye park. Rye Park is close to the town centre and there are many pavements there that don't get used much and they could become the last stretch of the bike road. Kingsmead road goes all the way to the retail park at naives beech(the tree).

Kingsmead road is already a nuisance to motorists because there are crossing islands that force cars to give way. It would better if it was a single car lane going in one direction with two bike lines next to it. That way, motorists wouldn't need to worry about pulling over at the crossing islands.

There would be signs on London road that point to the bike bypass road so cyclists and get to a safer bike road.

Thank Yeshua

Christians around the world are being persecuted, their churches are being destroyed and their possessions are being ruined. It is the same thing that happens every time; a lie spreads about Christians and then a community has a hateful knee jerk reaction against them.

I'm grateful that Jesus was placed in the body of man and steered the body into a sinless lifestyle that was pleasing to the father. Then he lay down his life for us so we may have eternal life if we repent and embrace God's law. He was resurrected after 3 days and made a way where there was no way. Let's replace our fear and hate with peace.

Forgive, repent and embrace the 10 commandments given to Moses. Trust in Yeshua, Jesus.

In this world people are shallow, they won't even return a greeting but Jesus loves every last person, even the people that persecute Christians.

Launcher set

According to the NASA blogs, the new launch tower for the Artemis missions is in place. A few days ago the launch tower was all set up. It solves problems I never knew existed. They have to pump lots of liquid hydrogen into the space launch system but the hydrogen starts to boil when it is injected into the rocket. When the hydrogen boils, the gas hangs around for a while and could cause an explosion when the rocket starts up so the tower pumps the excess gas away. The tower also has clamps that hold the rocket up in the wind but they have to pull away as soon as the rocket turns on, I think the whole tower leans away from the rocket during launch. The tower injects large amounts of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen into the rocket; when the rocket is loaded onto the launch tower, it is empty. It is filled up while it is mounted on the tower.
The Space Launch system for the Artemis missions works like the space shuttle system and resembles it in some way. Large tanks filled with liquid hydrogen and oxygen are burnt and two smaller booster rockets on either side help to lift the Orion space ship at the top out into deep space.

Very soon, people will go to the moon to keep a constant human presence there, I'm guessing they will build a space village on the moon.

Alabama Dock Fight

There was recently a large brawl on a dock in a river in the city of Montgomery in the American state of Alabama.
The co captain of a large river boat approached a smaller boat that was parked in the wrong docking point and was stopping the bigger boat from docking. The people on the smaller boat were very rude and aggressive, I got the impression they were a bit drunk with alcohol or they have a bully nature about them, like they were expecting to get their own way. After trying to reason with the smaller boat crew, one of them ran out and punched the boat captain in the face. The villain was a white man with flipflops on and the victim was a middle aged black man simply doing his job.

I put myself in the shoes of the co captain of the large river boat. He had tried to reason with them and explain that the docking point was reserved for the large boat, he was telling them that the large boat can't dock until they move elsewhere. They responded by telling him to f*CK off and punch him in the face. He threw his cap to stay in fighting form and keep his head cool, he also crouched slightly to give himself a better center of gravity and balance. The Co Captain had clarity of thought. The pissed angry small boat crew weren't thinking clearly at all, they docked in the wrong docking point and we're wearing flip flops to a fist fight, they were a bit daft. They should edit the video so daft sound affects play, like "doiinggg", "fluuub" "buuuff" .

I was pleased when strangers ran out to defend the co captain of the large boat because the whole crew of the smaller boat were rude bullies and they probably got away with their unfair behaviour before. I think one guy even jumped into the river to swim to the rescue. The boat bullies got nailed by random people that didn't put up with their behaviour.

While this incident went viral around the world, I noticed a small plastic wall garden at my local shopping centre. I took a picture of it because I was impressed. Now I have a clear interest in wall gardens; vertical gardens that grow on a wall.
The two thoughts are merged together in my head, wall gardens and the Alabama Dock Fight.

Half of August

Half of August has gone by, I am like a mist in the air that slowly condenses into drizzle and fades away. I would fade away into un unthinking careless waste one day and all my thoughts would fade away with me.
I was wondering why the prophet Moses instructed his people to kill their animals as an offering to atone their sin. It doesn't make sense to me. I don't ask rhetorical questions, I really want to know. I speculated some theories of my own. Perhaps they are punishing themselves by damaging their assets, the reason I thought this was because the animal has to be without defect and burned up so nothing can be salvaged from the animal's body. This is just a speculation, it's not the truth. I don't know what the truth is.

One day all my thoughts will be gone unless I am restored again in the future by God.

More Wild Fires

Recently during this week there were wild fires on the Hawaiian Islands. I don't believe that all of the wild fires in the world today started from lightning striking dry bush. I think some of them were started by human activity. I thought it might be an idea to put CCTV cameras in drones that fly over forests to catch arsenists or people being careless with fire. If half of the world fires were started by people, I wouldn't be surprised.
It was during the wild fires in Hawaii that I realized that chat GPT AI can play chess, the timing of the two events were in parallel. Chat GPT can tell you where to move it's playing pieces using the board grid reference and you tell it where you put your pieces as well. This means I can play physical chess board games on my own. I wonder if it can play black jack as well.

Most Distant Star

I have 4 blogs at the moment but my favourite blogs are the NASA ones and Evercade. With the chrome browser you can add a page link to your phones desktop.
You press the three dots in the top corner of the page
Then you click on the add to home screen menu item.

I have a little folder on my phone's desktop with links to all my favourite blogs presented with icons asif they were apps.

My Favourite blogs

I like my blog but my 3  favourite blogs are space and games blogs curated by big companies. They're very interesting to read.

Recently I learned that then most distant star ever detected is Earendel, I'm not sure how to pronounce the name though. Is it "Ear end el"  or "air end all" or "E ren del"  I will find out later. The funny thing is the star has probably exploded already because the light we see from the star is billions of years old. They only see one pixel of the star's light so there is a chance it is actually two stars according to NASA. The star produced a lot more heat than our sun either way. I think it is only visible from that distance because it is large and bright, I'm sure there are lots of smaller stars near it. It's very hard to imagine how many stars there are in the universe.

This is the article I saw about Earendel.

Bibby Stockholm

Recently the British government has put together a large residence for asylum seekers to live in. It is a high concentration of living quarters built on a floating barge called 'Bibby Stockholm'. If you were a real refugee then you wouldn't care about living on a crowded barge for a year because it would be better than being killed by a tyrant. If I was a dissident fleeing death from a tyrant, I would be grateful they're giving me a place to stay, even if it is on a crowded barge.

I my view the government are being responsible because they have been forced to accommodate the asylum seekers in hotels and were over spending public money. If they buy private land and build on land, they would be spending £ billions. I am proud of the government for trying to be responsible with public spending and have tried to find a solution that is good for everyone. The barge is on water so they didn't need to buy any land to build the apartments.

They're not hateful or calus, they're just responsible.

USA Open Air Dungeon

I thought I'd draw a sketch that describes the image I get of the United States of America in the present  day. I have the image of a dark open air dungeon full of chaos and disorder. I don't like this image but that is the image I'm given by social media and the news.

I drew some smooth curves and arches because the USA is a mix a order and disorder together as one, good things are happening  there but mostly it is angry mobs outbursting violently and stressed out people trying to keep themselves together. There is a drug emergency, with whole communities of people completely stoned out of their head and frozen into a stupefied mess.

I hope they can pull through and have a peaceful happy  existence.

VR Golf

I was wondering what '90s Alan would think about me playing golf in virtual reality. Back in those days everything was different, the internet was very slow, AI was science fiction and Pluto was considered a planet.

During my wife's birthday earlier in the week, I briefly tried out the more formal golf game on my brother's oculus quest virtual reality headset, it's called 'golf +'. I played the adventure putting golf game called 'walkabout adventure golf' several times before but not formal normal golf.

In this game there are actually 3 games in one. A formal full sized golf game, top golf which is like an adventure driving golf game and pro Putt which is an adventure mini golf putting game. It has many similar features to walkabout mini golf. You can go into giant mode and look down from above, you can teleport to where the ball is without walking and you can play alongside other people you know through the internet.
I love playing golf in virtual reality. It is fun and convenient. I can play for free (after I purchase the game) and when it is a convenient time for me to play: even at 11pm.
I found a video of someone playing the game on YouTube Guy playing golf plus

When will I get my own Oculus quest headset?

Wife's Birthday

It was my wife's birthday, I'm grateful we were allowed to live another year in this world without health issues.

The day before my wife's birthday I went to the chat GPT site Chat.OpenAI  and noticed they had just released chat GPT4. They set it up so chat GPT3 is free to use but you have to pay to use chat GPT4.

The artificial intelligence of GPT3 is still amazing to me, it thinks like a human but only faster. I asked it a specific thing to do and it thought about it and quickly came up with an answer.
I wanted it to think of a unique girl's name that was an abbreviation of 'British Way'; that is a very specific thing to ask and requires some thought and brainstorming. The machine did it though, it was very fast. It gave me 5 answers in seconds.

Feeling Old

Recently my 4g router started picking up 5g signals. The speed of my household internet went from 20mps to about 60 to 80. When something new comes along, I feel old because I remember how it was before. I'm older than the internet. I was there from the beginning when they introduced dialup.
To get dialup, you would plug a RJ11 connector into your phone line socket and the other end into your desk top computer modem, your desktop computer would then make a phone call to a dialup provider and the browser would download the page, the fast food restaurants were very fast to embrace this technology, they would put all their menus and offers on a webpage for dial up. While this happened, your phone line was engaged so you couldn't receive any phone calls. After 2 minutes, if you stopped navigating a page, the modem would hang up unless you set it to persist for longer.

The next one was Digital Subscriber Line (DSL). They realised that your phone line had a spare line for testing, they gave you a DSL filter to remove tones that matched your modem signal so you could make phone calls at the same time. Later they encrypted the signal and made it more reliable, it was called Advanced Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL)  then ADSL 2 They also made a dedicated machine that was always connected to the internet, they called it a router. At first you would use RJ45 cables to connect devices to the router but later they had WiFi. RJ45 cables are still useful, if you run a washing machine, it disrupts the WiFi signal a bit but doesn't affect RJ45 cables; I think washing machines spurt out radio noise because of the electric motor.

Now I have a 4g router, it uses the mobile phone network to connect to the internet without any cables, recently I was picking up 5g, the latest version of mobile internet, it runs at the same speed at fiber optics but it slows down a bit when it rains I think. All TV, radio and phone calls in my home come through my 4g/5g router.

My phone's internet also slows down when it is raining outside because the rain drops get in the way of the signal I think.

What July 2023 Means To Me

Throughout July there were many forest fires around  the world; I believe global warming is real but I thought the fires weren't because of global warming, I thought they were because of careless human activity perhaps from smokers or arsonists. Forests go through a dry spell regularly but they don't always burn because an ignition source is needed to start the fire.
It was my birthday during July so I had my glass of whiskey, I only drink twice a year. I thank God for allowing me to live one more year with no health problems.

A whistle blower that worked as a senior manager for the pentagon swore under oath in a courtroom that they had recovered an alien space ship; No one seemed to care much. The government in America and many other places have already confessed that they recovered machines from other worlds or encountered advanced non human flying machines.

Twitter changed their logo to an X shaped thing. I didn't like it. I thought it was too generic, the letter X is usually used by signs to mean don't enter.

Towards the end of the month I learned that there is an electric car that costs less than £20,000. The datcher spring, I thought it would be another 10 years before the price would go down but they pulled it off. There are several cars that are close to that price bracket.

Let's see how August goes.
