What May 2021 means to me

May 2021 was about voting Brits, Pestilence, conflict and a river of fire in the Congo.
For the past 4 years, Westminster has treated the Northern Irish as a fifth wheel or obstacle for Brexit, not like a Brother nation in the Kingdom. We had a general election this month and the results revealed that the 4 nations of the United Kingdom are on a different page as a result.
Nationalist parties gained more seats in Northern Ireland, I imagined people that had marched through the Streets of Belfast in Orange all their lives to show their commitment to the Kingdom looking over their shoulder and voting for Sinn Fien or something like that. Perhaps the Island of Ireland will be one state in the near future. A similar thing was happening in Scotland.
Later in the month there was an exchange of missile fire in Palestine and Israel, the conflict escalated almost to the point of a war but it remained a rumour, the Egyptians stepped forward to negotiate peace, they seem like the go-to guys for peace talks.
The C19 virus mutated more and was killing more people in the world, I got vaccinated this month along with millions of other Brits. The Pestilence of the C19 virus is very devastating, I have lost some family members.

Towards the end of the month, mount Nyiragongo erupted and released a river of lava that destroyed towns nearby. I think the lava eventually reached the city of Goma. Thousands of people fled the disaster in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I wish them all peace and good health.

Then finally at the last bit of the month it was my Dad's birthday, the west Booths and East Booths were reunited at our parents house for the first time in over a year.

Happy Times ahead? I hope so.

NATO and Russia

In my view, there is no East or West on a Sphere like Earth unless you draw a line on it. Well, it turns out the line we used to mark east and west on Earth is Turkey, Syria and nearby Israel, the center of the world defined by people of this time.  Turkey is taking action in Syria because they share a border with Syria and they are a military giant in NATO.

We now have a situation where the Eastern powers and NATO are separated by hills. A wrong move could cause world war 3 so communication between the so called east and west is essential.

What a world we live in. No oneness, peace and no vision for mankind.

Jeremy Corbyn

Earlier in the week the Labour party was criticised for allegedly supporting anti semetism. Jeremy  went to a Passover party of a left wing group that are skeptical of Isreal. I think they are called Judos or something like that.

I personally have nothing against Jeremy and I don't think he is anti semetic. In many ways I think he is like me, he hates wars and thinks the railways should be nationalised. He is a people person and thinks that people's lives are sometimes more important than profit.

I don't know him personally but I think he is like me because of his speeches and I would always vote for a guy like me. The problem is when I vote I am voting for a local MP and I'm not loyal to any party. The rule I follow is that I try to make contact with my local MP and if he ignores me, I remember and vote for his oponent when the next election comes. So I may not vote for labour but that wouldn't be because of Corbyn. It would be because of the local man that didn't listen to me in the years before.

I am grateful for life and a working mind that is free to think and question everything. If you are reading this and are Jewsish then I hope you see me as a mind that has no hate for you or anyone.

Jerusalem & Trump

Earlier in the week, President Donald Trump of America officially recognized Jerusalem as the Capital city of Israel. The decision was very unpopular around the world. In my view, a holy city does not belong to anyone. If the city belongs to a government then that city is no longer Holy. If a Christian goes to the church or Muslim goes to a Mosque or Jew to the Synagogue, they will all claim those places are holy and that they belong to the whole community, the same is true of a holy city. The city should belong to itself and no government or ruler should ever own it.

The Palestinian community also claim ownership of the city. To them it must be a huge blow. I'm sure they feel like their identity is being removed from the land.

I lack the ability and the will to even try to solve the problems that exist in the middle East. If the experts can't do it then I will assume that I have no answer.

Today I am grateful for peace because it can be taken away at any time and peace was not always available.
