End of November Budget

I recently learned that the elected labour party of Britain had prepared a budget; a plan for how public spending will be gathered and divided up. It wasn't well received.
The bank of England who are politically independent of the government consider it to be daft as do the opposition leadership. Many journalists on both sides of the political polarity also consider it to be daft. I think even the civil servant that leaked the budget early probably thinks it's a bad idea. (They want to find who it is and send the person to jail)
I'm not an expert myself, I would say lifting the spending cap for universal credit recipients with more than 2 children would be like giving them a third breadwinner. If you freeze my earnings allowance at twelve and half thousand and I get a pay rise in spring, that would mean I pay more. They set it up so everyone will pay more after spring 2026.  I don't know much but I know that if you take money from one person and give it to another, you're not creating more money or jobs.

It's not too late to change it if they think it is wrong.
Good luck and godspeed to them all.

Late Summer

It is the late part of summer, summer 2024 here in Britain is very much about coming to terms with a change of leadership. It was in summer that the conservatives set the general election early and lost. Now Britain is run by a labour leadsrship. I don't have a political polarity, I wish them good luck. I do like the idea of all the railways being nationalised again like it was in the '90s. If they can pull it off then godspeed to them.

It is nice and warm, the heat is welcome.
In my town, a bus company removed themselves from my town and the rival company took over all the routes. I think my town is too small to have two bus operators, perhaps the buses around here will be seamless and better value now, we'll see.

I keep my chin up for progress and better living standards. Perhaps this new government has a good plan to bring down the cost of living in general.

What July 24 Means to Me

The month started off with an early general election in Britain, The political term was set to expire in December but they called it early, 4th of July; the British political term lasts for 5 years. The labour party dislodged the conservatives and took full power in government; they call it a landslide victory. The labour party completely won most of the seats in the house of commons. My local conservative MP also lost his seat, he was the MP of my town for many years.

Later in July 2024, Donald Trump got shot in the ear, the bullet was aimed at his brain but his head moved slightly while he was talking. It was a close shave. It happened when I went to the coast to celebrate my birthday; it is nice to spend a short break at a popular British coastal town. It is also nice to spend 9 months before shopping around for good deals on hotel tariffs and transport arrangements.

A few days later I watched the final game of the European football tournament (Euros 24). England lost against Spain in the last few minutes of the game. It was very close. Every game England played was like that, they narrowly won the game, penalties, points after draw or scoring in the last minute. Every game was a close shave. The last game was too close.

The rest of the month was routine and normal for July.

Less yellow and orange

I think that all the political parties have one thing in common, they have made promises they can't keep. Either they are over ambitious or they will be blocked by the shadow cabinet or the house of Lords. I don't really care who gets elected now because this election is all about Brexit and I don't really know what brexit polarity is best anymore.

The only thing I would like on the weekend is to see a political map of Britain with less yellow and orange. If there was no yellow or orange at all then that would be even better. The Lib-dems and SNP have been telling us what to think and don't really listen to ordinary people. They have their own ambitions and work against the will of the majority.  I don't care what colour my district lights up on the weekend as long as it is not orange or yellow. It could stay blue or turn red and that is fine, it could even turn green and I would be happy.

This weekend will be very revealing indeed. We will have a better picture of what the Brits actually think and what the start of the 2020s will be like.

Some thoughts

Well I was thinking, If you made the internet free then how will all those companies that charge for their internet service make money? Wouldn't they go out of business and leave their staff unemployed?

Also..

When I walk on the beach, I get grains of sand stuck in my shoe and they are carried away with me yet it makes little difference to the beach. The beach is oblivious that a few grains have gone. Is the same true for this solar system. The sun and Earth could disappear and the universe would not notice any difference. And the same is true for everything in this blog. It actually makes no difference to the vast ocean of information and opinions of the masses of people that see it.

Trump visit

Earlier in the week, during the d day rememberence day and shortly before for 3 days, Donald Trump visited the United Kingdom. Donald trump is not the type of guy that I would be friends with. Some of the things he said in the past hurt my ears. I think he has little respect for most people. I wouldn't like to meet him in a locker room and hear him talk. However he didn't come to make friends with people. He came as his duty to represent the people of the United States of America. He was doing his job. That is why I was disappointed by all the leaders that didn't show up to the banquet table when they where invited.

Think of it this way. In America one term is 4 years and the maximum number of terms a president can serve is 2. So this means the maximum time he can stay president is 8 years. And he may only serve one term or get impeached before that.

Now he could get replaced by another leader that seems to have a better moral fabric within 5 years from now but if you wait that long to engage in talks and meetings then it may be too late and the ostracized president would cooperate with another state leader and increase relations with them instead of us.

These politicians are working for us and it is their job to represent us. So if they boycott then they are not doing their job. I hope that every party leader that failed to show up and represent their constituents in these talks would not get elected again next time because I think they are forgetting who they are working for.

Jeremy Corbyn

Earlier in the week the Labour party was criticised for allegedly supporting anti semetism. Jeremy  went to a Passover party of a left wing group that are skeptical of Isreal. I think they are called Judos or something like that.

I personally have nothing against Jeremy and I don't think he is anti semetic. In many ways I think he is like me, he hates wars and thinks the railways should be nationalised. He is a people person and thinks that people's lives are sometimes more important than profit.

I don't know him personally but I think he is like me because of his speeches and I would always vote for a guy like me. The problem is when I vote I am voting for a local MP and I'm not loyal to any party. The rule I follow is that I try to make contact with my local MP and if he ignores me, I remember and vote for his oponent when the next election comes. So I may not vote for labour but that wouldn't be because of Corbyn. It would be because of the local man that didn't listen to me in the years before.

I am grateful for life and a working mind that is free to think and question everything. If you are reading this and are Jewsish then I hope you see me as a mind that has no hate for you or anyone.
