Story time

There was once a young man called Tom that lived on a small island in the seas of nowhere. Tom had an issue with the small island he lived on. The governor and his officials weren't building enough homes to accommodate all the  immigrants so the prices of the homes were inflating more than wages. Infact it had got so bad that most of the homes cost more than a quarter of a million shillings.

Tom wrote to the leaders and asked them to build more homes but they didn't listen. Even though they were taking a third of his income in taxes. Instead they decided to blow the money on a war with a far away kingdom that was surrounded by deserts and all their weapons were destroyed 15 years earlier so they were no threat to anyone.

He wrote to them again and talked to them but they still didn't listen instead they used vast amounts of money to build a special town that hosts games for other kingdoms for two weeks. Other kingdoms visited and threw sticks and run around and jumped. The prices of homes increased to one third of a million shillings.

Then there was a referendum to choose if they stay in the federation of kingdoms. It is a union to allow members of each kingdom move around and trade without being charged import taxes.

The Govenor wanted the island to remain in the federation of kingdoms so he told everyone to vote to stay but some of his officials wanted to leave but they were in the minority but one of them built a large wooden horse and painted it red and put a sign saying that 350 shillings would be used for the infirmary if they leave. No one cared about the red wooden horse.

Tom remembered that the Goveners never listened to him so he decided to vote the other way and voted to leave the federation. That way he could say "f you" to the establishment and slow down the flow of immigrants to make homes cheaper.

The majority of the island voted to leave the federation so the eastablishment blamed the wooden horse for deceiving the people. The governor asked the people why they voted to leave so the people sent the governor a mirror.
