Strange to think of it

Today I am grateful for my phone because I create things with it and use it to call people.

One thing I have learnt today is there was once a time when the Earth shined brightly. If you were on the moon you would see two glowing balls, the sun and the earth.

There was also a time when the moon had volcanoes on it.

There are so many things that happened in the cosmos that people will never see.

New video direction

I am thankful that I have a chin because I can keep it up and stay happy regardless of what happens around me.

I have decided to keep my alan's log videos on the alan's log page on my facebook along with the blogs.

With twitter I will post it as normal. The only video I will put on my main feed on facebook is my analysis videos that I make once a week.

My New family of videos

I am so happy and grateful for my computer because I can use my computer to create videos on you tube.

I have created a new family of videos that are intended to be used as a virtual radio platform. How it works is simple, I made a video frame work. Then I just talk into a microphone for a few minutes and add the sound to the video.

The Amazing thing about you tube is you can reach more people than TV and radio does. If 20 million people watch or listen to your videos then you have more viewers than some of the established TV shows.

That is amazing to me for 2 reasons. 1 you could be famous and 2 your message could reach many people.

Vid posted to you tube

I am thankful for my computer and my hands because I was able to make a video on you tube.

I posted many videos on you tube in the past but this time it is different because I am now making documentaries about the world.

I hope to make many documentaries in the near future.

I can only hope that many people will watch them.

Pasta & microwave cooking

Today I am grateful for all the cheap pasta and rice in the world because they taste very good and cost very little.

Today I have learnt that you can reduce the power level of your microwave to maintain a gentle heat  level that would cook pasta or rice evenly without heating one part of the food and leaving the other cold.

If you reduce the power level of an 800 watt microwave to 30% and cook the food 3 times longer then you get a nice even cooking time. I put pasta and water in the microwave for 15 minutes at 30% power level and the heat has time to spread evenly through the food. Before I would put the microwave on full power for 5 minutes. The heating would be uneven when I did that so one part of the food would be very hot and the other warm.

I am also thankful in advance for all the wealth that I will have in the near future.

Computer setback

Today I am happy and grateful for all the wonderful things in this world. May I have good memories all the days of my life.

Today my sd drive or my sd card malfunctioned. I didn't backup my work, a video documentary for you tube.

I hope that it is the reader that malfunctioned and not the card. If it is then I will replace the reader still have the nearly complete video ready to finish.

If the card malfunctioned then I will have to recreate my video again.

Is it just me ?

Today I am grateful for clean water and a peaceful existence.

I was wondering why people are worried about Isis, north Korea and Russia. But they are not worried about the real threat; the Earth itself.

We are living on a planet that changes all the time. It's immense gravity attracts space rocks to fall on it from space. Our planet is harbouring microbes that change every day and can kill many people. There are giant underground volcanoes that can cause winter to linger for years and cause crop failures.
Islands can slide into the ocean and cause tsunamis on a grand scale. The list goes on but it is very grim.

I want to forget about conflicts in this world because the earth will do one of those things I mentioned in the near future and that is the real threat to mankind.

I am thankful in advance for all the good gifts that will come my way in the near future.

Home town re faced

I am so grateful for all my good memories. When I was a young boy everything was special. I was easy to please and amaze. It was so easy to make me say wow. Now it is much more difficult.

Most of my childhood memories are attached to my home town of Burnt Oak in Edgware where I grew up.

In recent years my home town and nearby area has transformed a lot.

There was a place called yohan plaza on the Edgware road. This was a small oriental shopping mall. The first floor of the building was largely restaurants, there was a large buffet in the shopping mall that I remember very well, a favourite for the Booth family for eating out. The last time I was there was when I graduated in 2006, the building was demolished shortly after that.  Downstairs there was an arcade and even a show room for Japanese cars. It is gone now and just a memory but what a sweet memory it was. The site that was once a love for me is now being turned into a supermarket.

The B & Q retail park opposite the  colindale ASDA supermarket has been turned into a large block of flats.

Burnt Oak library has also been changed and has a refaced entrance. I loved my library and loved reading the books in there. I wonder how long libraries will still be around for.

The burger king where my younger cousin once had his birthday party is now an opticians.

The stone grove housing estate in Edgware has been knocked down and rebuilt with a new modern finish.

The street I lived in had a small green next to it, there was two oak trees and one giant ash tree. They are all gone now. All that remains is grass.

Edgware hospital has been largely rebuilt and is unrecognisable from what it was in the 80s and 90s.

Now it is time to create new memories. Last year I went to the Netherlands several times to see my fiance. I met the family she was staying with and loved them all. I loved the Dutch towns and trains. I will never forget my time there. It was like I was a child again, being amazed by new things.

When I move further away from London to live with my fiance I hope to have many wonderful memories and be very happy.

The most important thing in this world is happiness. If you are not happy that being alive is worthless.

What's missing from smart TVs

I am grateful for TV because it is a big part of my life.

Smart TVs and smart TV boxes are great but there is one thing that is missing from them and that is reading app.

I love to read e books and it would be nice to be able to read through them on my tv.
