Queen's Funeral

The day of the Queen's Funeral will be Monday the 19th of September, this coming Monday. I was thinking about the summer of 2017, when Grenfell tower caught fire. Grenfell Tower was like a village but the homes were all stacked together on a single tower block in flats. Hundreds of people were living there. The local authorities had put cladding insulation on the outside of the flats that were flammable, so when one appartment caught fire, the fire spread around the outside of the tower and consumed the other flats. I remember the Queen went there with her family and tried to comfort the survivors of fire. The Queen seemed saddened by their disaster, it was like her own children were in trouble. 

I think Queen Elizabeth was the Greatest monarch we ever had in modern times because she was very kind and cared about all the people in Britain and the world. 

Now our monarch is King Charles the 3rd. When I think of King Charles, I think of Boston because I went there and remember there was a river there called Charlie or something like that. I also remember they had a train pass called the Charlie card. He cares about the environment a lot, the environment of Boston seems nice as well. Also Boston is the place where they had a tea party to discuss going against the king of England. I saw the place where that happened. 

Every memory I have is connected to the Queen in some way or another because she was always there, even before I was born. The world is turning into something I no longer recognise; a strange world with no more normality. 

Elizabeth line AC

Last month the Elizabeth line opened for service in London, one of the things that makes it different to most the existing lines is that the trains use AC power instead of DC. Most of the Metro trains in London that I am aware of use DC power because the lines are very old and in the olden days they didn't know any better. 

The problem the DC power is it is hard to divide it up without producing a lot of heat and wasted energy. The other problem is you can't have two trains on the same loop because on DC power, one train will cause the power of the other to surge or sag depending on what the train is doing. The other problem is you can't use high voltage because the whole current in the loop flows into the train. 

To solve the problem they put the a physical break in the live rails so the brushes pickup the charge for a while then they are moved onto a different DC loop so they don't share the power supply of other trains. I think each loop is only 630volts. 

The Elizabeth line trains use AC power, the electrical current is changing direction 50 times a second so it can go through a transformer on the train and a smaller charge is taken. The power is divided up so a small charge is taken from the current and then converted to DC. The power is divided up without producing much heat. 

All the trains can share a single loop because they all have transformers that divide the power up so most of it goes straight back into the overhead cables. 

Royal Book Bombshell

I recently learned that Harry the former Duke of Sussex will write 4 books and deliberately withhold some of them until the Queen is dead. 

It would be like me saying "Hello Grandma, I'm writing a book. I'll publish it when you're dead". I don't know how the Queen is going to take that, I imagined it would be like a slap in the face. The Queen is being kept in the dark shadow of the grim reaper about her grandson's book. 

What I would say is Harry should think it through again and reconsider the arrangement. 

I'm not Saying Prince Harry is daft, I just think he made a misguided mistake and should step forward and apologize to his Grandmother. 

I'm just an ordinary guy though but sometimes it is an obscure blogger that doesn't know much that can see the problems and the truths in this world.
