Jacob's Spring

I will remember April 2019 as Jacob's spring because my son Jacob was born in the middle of the month in the middle of spring shortly before Easter in the middle of the day in the middle of Buckinghamshire . He will most likely live most of his childhood in the 2020s. I hope that Jacob will have a healthy and happy youth with wonderful memories.

I ask Jacob, what does it mean to spend most of your childhood in the 2020s decade? What does it mean to be a 20s boy in the home of the Booths? Do you have happy memories? At the end of the 20s decade, Jacob will be 11 years old. All I can say is that I will listen.

The week my life changed

The week during mid April is the week that changed my life. Starting from the 15th of April my pregnant wife started having contractions. A few days later, exactly one month after St Patrick's day on the 17th my son was born.

My first child was born in the middle of Spring and the middle of the day at the same time former president of Peru Alan Garcia shot himself in the head to defy arrest and life. We gave him the name Jacob.

I am no longer Me, I am Us. I am a family. We are a small family of three but we are us. My son was born and I was filled with love. I felt love and wonder, he is a small little man with his own personality, He will have his own quirks and his own values and his own world to create. He will have his own memories to share. Perhaps he is reading this now.

I hope to get the opportunity to do all the Dad things like unbolt my son's training wheels when he masters his first bike and teach him everything I know. I will steer him away from bad mischievous paths. I will take him to Amusement parks and holidays and hopefully share many happy memories and see him grow into a happy man with his own family.

Climate change diet

Earlier today there was many protesters that brought disruption to London. They were worried about climate change. I don't blame them because It is a huge hazard to our world.

All I would say is that being a vegetarian or vegan would make a big difference because the meat industry causes a lot of global warming. And remember that the problem is solving itself because we are running out of fossil fuels and renewable energy is become cheaper and more numerous.

I am here waiting. Waiting and waiting for my marriage to turn into a small family. I am feeling very tense and afraid but I am standing strong and keeping my head clear.

Nothing left for me to do but wait and let the will of God take its course.

Black hole vision

Earlier in the week on the 10th of April, a picture of the "Event Horizon" of a giant "Black hole" called Messier 87 was revealed to the general public. April will go down in history as the month we saw a black hole. The trouble is that it is impossible to see a black hole itself because it pulls light in so all you would see is a black void. Infact the inner edge of the "Event Horizon" would also be invisible because the Event Horizon is the area of gravity that overpowers light.

It may be possible in the future to see a black hole because you don't need light to see things. I saw my unborn baby using a device that can see sound waves. Bats and dolphins can see sound. Radar machines can see radio waves, night vision cameras can see infra red light.

The only thing I know can escape a black hole is gravity itself. (I don't know what hawing radiation is).  If you could measure tiny changes in gravity around a black hole then you would be able generate a picture, however gravity always seems to crush large objects into the shape of a sphere so that is probably what we would see.

I often wonder why they didn't call it a black sphere because that is the shape it probably is.

Big day approaches

A big day is approaching, the day Jacob will be born. The story I have for him for the weeks commencing his birth are comprehensive. His island home of Great Britain is caught in a powerful parliamentary deadlock that may only be broken by the Queen or the default outcome. They are all pulling in different directions and can't agree on how Brexit will executed.

Jacob himself is not born yet and his due date was last week at the start of April. The English weather has had a very bad start, the spring is cold and overcast with clouds most of the time.
We are worried that some of his family will miss the day he is born because they will need to return to Peru. I will need to return to work soon.

He we are all waiting. His Grandparents are waiting and so is his aunty. His dad will be forced to return to work soon. We are all waiting and hoping. Two deadlocks are playing out, a late birth and geopolitical exit that is delayed.

All that is left is patience and optimism.
