Scrap it

Earlier today the British government stated they have cancelled the HS2 railway extension from Birmingham to Manchester. I understand why they did that. If the whole railway costs £100 billion, it would need to generate £1 billion pounds every year  just to break even after a whole century. I doubt  it  would generate that much money, even supermarket chains can't generate that much money. We live on an over crowded island so all the property and land is expensive. They need to buy the land to build the tracks on, they would need to build bridges and lay down the tracks. There are too many costs. They're already building the Birmingham branch, but it won't continue after that. Birmingham is roughly in the middle of Britain so it is sort of near to everything. It is close to Oxford and Wales isn't too far as well.

Donald trump has been taken to court for being accused of fraud, they claimed his real estate business overvalued their assets to secure bigger loans. I think they're going to take away his business from New York. I don't see the logic of them doing that, you can do that to any business, even amusement parks change the price of their tickets by the day.
The price of the ticket can go from £60 to £35 depending on the day, the value of the park doesn't change so why does the price change? If  their director opened their mouth they could become court room fodder. This is what society is turning into, a place where you have to shut your mouth or be cancelled from society. They can even take away your bank account so you can't buy or sell anything. I feel pity for the next generation.

Winter Thoughts

It is the end of Autumn and the start of Winter. Some significant events that stand out are HS2 and the Kyle Rittenhouse court case.
Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty in court; Many people were criticizing the Judge and the court. The truth is the Verdict is decided by the jury not the judge. The Jury had access to all the facts so they had a better position to make a verdict than us. I saw a young man that was being condemned by the world and then spared by reasoning from the jury of a court, his breathing was that of the wind in a tree, restless and at peace, finally given relief, that huge axe of condemnation was shifted away. As more and more evidence emerged, ordinary people like myself saw that he was defending himself and trying to stop rioters from destroying his town  where he worked. He supported the protests but was concerned about rioters burning everything up. The prosecution found no evidence that he or his close family and friends were white supremacists, even when they took his phone and looked through his social media history.

I am skeptical of the HS2 railway project in Britain. I think the £96 billion could be spent on the existing railways we already have and the trains they are building are already old technology. I would spend that money building a box around the train tracks that collects sunlight and wind energy. I would build the boxes on the railways with diesel powered trains first so they could be converted to electric trains at the same time. If they did it that way, they would be fixing three problems with the same project, we still have diesel powered trains, we need to be net zero CO2 emmiters by 2050 and our railways are too expensive to run so the commuters are paying too much. In my view, building another railway is not the answer.

HS2 Renaissance

This month is due to bring big changes into my world. My Island country is due to leave the European Union. It is close to the birth of my son and other things are changing also.

There is a lot of stress now and one of the things I do when I am stressed is make videos and post them onto you tube and facebook.

As I am writing now, a new railway is being built called HS2. It is like HS1, the high speed train from London to Paris, but HS2 will connect the North of the Island to the south. It has been a while since I made videos so I will give it a go shortly. This video will just be a vlog about my options of HS2.  I'm sceptical of this new railway because I don't use HS1 and don't think I will use HS2. If I want to go to Paris I take a coach via a ferry or I drive via ferry. I don't take trains long distance because they charge too much money.
