I think about card games a lot during the winter because the darkest day is the 21st of December and 21 is the score boundary in the black-jack card game. I often play solo card games like free cell and solitaire during the dark winter months because it settles my mood. When it is cold and dark, one can become very moody. Card games work everywhere because playing cards can be represented by simple graphics or just text. I'm sure the dot matrix graphics of a tamagotchi could be enough for a game of cards.
