Christmas Paganism

Some Christians and Muslims think that Christmas is a pagan celebration. They say Jesus didn't celebrate Christmas, he did though because he was a Jew and first century Jews celebrated their birthday. They would drink wine and eat lamb and fish flat bread meals. Then they would say there are other pagan festivals close to Christmas; there were  pagan festivals for all 52 weeks of the year somewhere in Europe. They don't get it. Christmas time is the most dangerous time of the year in the Northern  hemisphere, you're more likely to pass away during December than any other time of the year. The air is cold so the blood vessels in your skin constrict causing your blood pressure to go up. Virus particles last longer so they build up and infect more people. If you lived 250 years ago, you would be acutely aware of this issue because you would see all the bodies piling up. They would be getting small pox, measles, tuberculosis and things like that. There is less good quality food and stuff like that, just root vegetables and meat.

My point is we celebrate Jesus's belated birthday on the darkest, deadliest portion of the year to cheer ourselves up, just like the pagans had festivals to cheer themselves up.
