A sporty political Summer

We have a political sporty summer here in Britain. The elected conservative party government have decided to set the general election early, the 5 year term was set to end in December but they decided to bring it forward to the 4th of July. Rishi Sunak has some metal in him. He's bravely pushing forward projects that could make some progress. He wants to stop the mass illegal migration crossing the channel and bring down inflation a bit more.
It is also the start of the European football tournament. Here in Britain we're lucky because we have more than one nation in our country.  I'm English so I will root for England, I missed the first England game but learned we won the match against Serbia. It will be interesting to see how far we get in the tournament. I will be happy if any British nation gets far. Scotland lost their first game but it is early in the tournament. They still may make some progress or even win the tournament.
